Futuroscope is one of France’s most loved theme parks. You won’t nd roller-coasters or carrousels but dynamic cinemas, gigantic screens, dancing with robots… there are so many unusual attractions for visitors of all ages!

Martin Solveig and Luc Besson are just a few of the celebrities who brought their talent to the park, for rides such as “Arthur’s 4D Adventure”, “Ice Age” or “Raving-Rabbids” – “The Time Machine” attraction that was awarded a THEA Award in 2014 for “Outstanding achievement” and a European Star Award 2015 that honours “Europe’s Best Dark Rides”.

From 2018, some great attractions joined Futuroscope! Ride, with the power of 4K IMAX laser technology and 3D audio, on a journey into space, with the European Space Agency’s youngest astronaut, Thomas Pesquet, and enjoy the highlights of his six-month space mission 400 km above the Earth. And set off on an extraordinary 3D adventure with Planet Power. All aboard for the spectacular and epic flight of Solar Impulse, the rst solar-powered aircraft to journey around the globe.

Also known as “the city of 100 bell towers”, Poitiers and its 2,000 year old history and heritage are quite a contrast from Futuroscope.

Bathed by the rivers Clain and Boivre, the peninsula of Poitiers is located in a historic centre of nature, embellished by the presence of an exceptional collection of sites and Romanesque monuments that evoke a rich medieval past.

On the way to Saint-James… Poitiers is a privileged passage for the pilgrims from the north of France and Europe. A tour invites you to discover the Unesco listed Abbey of Saint Savin, known for its magnificent 11th and 12th century wall paintings, which have reached us in a remarkable state of preservation! In the “Vallée des Singes”, more than 450 monkeys of different species live in the heart of a wooded park, roaming free on islands: no cages, no fences!

Another park in the Poitou region, Défiplanet’, offers many unusual accommodations including house of Farfadet, mushroom houses, Gipsy caravans or Mongolian yurt. Here you can also sleep in a manor perched in the trees while the Mercure Poitiers Centre Hotel offers rooms in the nave of a former Jesuit chapel built in 1854.
