Signature Travel Network celebrates Puerto Rico on annual Summit Club trip.
Signature Travel Network honoured their top earning members during their annual Summit Club journey to the Caribbean. This year, the trip celebrated Puerto Rico, recently named the number 1 place to travel in 2019 by the New York Times.
“Our members are the backbone to our business, so taking the time to celebrate their successes in 2018 is a fantastic way to connect with them and set out our goals for the upcoming year,” said Alex Sharpe, President and CEO of Signature. “It was also incredibly special to be on the island of Puerto Rico to see first-hand how they have recovered since the hurricane season just over a year ago. Puerto Rico isn’t just back, it’s better than ever.”
Signature members stayed at the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort and Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Hosted by Island Destinations, Signature Owners participated in various activities around the island, including sightseeing in Old San Juan. The group also donated items of need and spent time at Forjadores de Esperanza, a home for boys age five years and above, who have been victims of violence and removed from their homes and placed under the custody of the state. With the security of housing, clothing, healthy meals, access to medical, dental, psychological and psychiatric care, and enrolment in the local public school system, the boys grow and develop with the quality of life and stability all children deserve.
“While The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort is near El Yunque National Forest, where you can enjoy hiking and horseback riding, and the resort offers guests a tempting 18-hole course, our group enjoyed much-needed relaxation at the pool, beach and spa”, said Sharpe. “The food and service were excellent throughout the resort with a sunset dinner on the beach being a highlight for everyone.”
“The moment we stepped into our room at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and looked out from our balcony, we knew we were in a very special place,” said Dan Ilves, Senior Vice President, Leisure, at LA-based agency TravelStore. “The beach, the phenomenal landscaping, the wonderful cuisine, the attention to please guests all make this a fabulous choice destination that is transformative. While there is much assistance still needed in more rural parts of the island, guests to Puerto Rico are being well served, and supporting PR with our business not only provides guests a wonderful experience but is doubly important in serving to aid in the island’s ongoing recovery efforts.”
