ALL FOR ONE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

China’s Guangdong tourism cross-industry integration is making steady progress…

Recently,  tourism is Guangdong province has been rapidly expanding, with the provincial government incorporating “all-for-one tourism development” into provincial unified strategies, with tourism connected to more than 110 industries in the region.

This new idea and model for regional development puts tourism at the spearhead of comprehensive economic and social development. All-for-one tourism acts as an “advantage leading industry” enabling the organic integration of regional resources, resulting in the development of industries and the participation of the whole society.

In 2016, seven cities and counties, namely the cities of Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Zhongshan, Boluo County and Longmen County of Huizhou City, Kaiping County and Taishan County of Jiangmen City, were selected and listed in the first batch of “National All-for-one Tourism Demonstration Zones”.

The preliminary results of Jiangmen tourism industry have revealed. With the development of health tourism and industrial tourism, ‘Chenpi Village in Xinhui has attracted a great flow of visitors, where a small piece of dried orange peel (pericarpium citri reticulatae), in Chinese, it is named ‘Chenpi,’ is worthy of gold. The Agricultural Development Bank of China, Jiangmen branch is bringing capital into the tourism industry, with RMB 5.6 billion credited for Jiangmen tourism projects in recent years, and RMB 1.95 billion credited for Chikan Old Town Protection and Development Project, helping the tourism industry hitch a capital ride. Naqin peninsula in Taishan enjoys fantastic jagged rocks and unique scenery, and has become a famous base for wedding photo shoots. The beautiful scenery of Jiangmen has attracted more young people to visit and record beautiful moments of their life.

Director of Tourism Administration of Guangdong province, Zeng Yingru said Guangdong will closely align with the all-for-one tourism development strategy in 2017. The strategy will strengthen the development of coastal towns, resorts, winter leisure tourism, ocean hot springs and other new formats, focusing on planning a world-class tourist district of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay, with an aim to building the most attractive coastal tourism belt in Guangdong.
