40,000 ATTENDEES EXPECTED FOR 7TH INTERNATIONAL TOURISM SHOW IN ABIDJAN – COTE D’IVOIRE

The Ministry of Tourism of the Côte d’Ivoire is aiming to make the nation a key tourism destination – not only in Africa, but also on the global scene.

The SITA – Salon international du tourisme d’Abidjan – will take place from 28th April to 1st May 2017 in the FHB Airport Exhibition Centre. The halls are strategically positioned next to the boulevard joining the Félix Houphouët-Boigny international airport with Port Bouët, in the south of the economic capital of the Ivory Coast.

Announcing the event – centred around the theme, “Sustainable tourism, a necessary engagement for Africa”, Tourism Minister, Siandou Fofana said “With the SITA, we have the ambition of making the Côte d’Ivoire a sought-after destination in Africa and in the world, to accompany the development of the nation.”

Mr Fofana reaffirmed his confidence in the team of the state tourism authority, stating he believed the trade event will be carried out in a highly professional manner, and will in time become just one of a number of major events to see the light of day in the capital. In this sense, Côte d’Ivoire Tourisme, in its mission of promotion for the destination, will soon become an entirely commercial entity, and a “creator of events”.
