11 Cadogan Gardens: London, UK

11 Cadogan Gardens, Chelsea relaunched this May following a year of extensive renovations. The hotel now boasts 56 rooms and suites, with each of the 25 suites having been individually designed to complement the hotel’s unique character. The hotel’s Drawing Room is a welcoming retreat for guests, with an eclectic mix of warmly toned fabrics and light floral-patterned walls creating a comfortable and cosy atmosphere in which to relax. In the Library a burst of colour has been injected with vibrant blues, contemporary furniture and an ornate antler chandelier. The redesign has been sympathetic to the hotel’s heritage with JSJ Design, a company known for producing exceptional interior design in the hospitality sector, taking great care to preserve its distinct décor and Victorian façade.


Alentejo Marmoris Hotel & Spa: Alentejo, Portugal

Located in the centre of Alentejo, 180km from Lisbon, Alentejo Marmaris Hotel & Spa is set to launch a new series of tours from February 2017, encouraging guests to truly discover the local region. One of the tours includes Rota do Montado, a countryside locale where guests can explore the stunning nature of this rural region.


Althoff Villa Belrose: Gassin, France

 2017 sees Villa Belrose celebrating its 20th anniversary with planned refurbishments taking place ready to open for the summer season from 14 April.


Baros Maldives: Male, Maldives

One of Baros’ most popular villas, the lead in Deluxe Villa is getting a major face lift in 2017, making it lighter and changing all the furniture for an upgraded and brighter experience. The famous open air bathroom is still ever present but has also been upgraded with a new and refreshing style. Baros offers guests to the Maldives a perfect location, thriving house reef, romantic atmosphere and legendary service excellence


Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà: Verona, Italy

Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà is rolling out a new Oasi Relax outdoor area, with a spa-like atmosphere, bright colours and soft couches surrounded by flowers and greenery. The hotel’s Espace Byblos, meanwhile, has announced a new wellness-themed collaboration with Anmin Cosmetics, an entrusted brand known for its use of gold and amber. Merging art and gastronomy is Amista 33, a new culinary project from Byblos Art Hotel’s chef Marcos Perez.


Cameron Highlands Resort: Malaysia

In 2017, the talented chef from Cameron Highlands Resort and a local organic farmer will lead guests through the undulating plots of vegetable beds, sharing the intricacies of organic farming methods and labour of love that went into nurturing each crop during The Organic Culinary Journey experience. The resort chef will then conduct a cooking demonstration in a rustic, open kitchen at the farm using freshly harvested vegetables to prepare a three-course meal.


Canaves Oia Hotel: Oia, Greece

Canaves Oia Luxury Resort has announced plans to re- launch its luxurious and enticing spa in April 2017. Located in the prestigious Canaves Oia Suites, the authentic spa, renovated from two traditional ‘Canaves’ 17th century caves, oozes lavishness with impressive interior and first-class amenities. Teaming up with the award-winning Elemis brand allows for an array of idyllic treatments including ‘Pro- collagen Quartz Life Facial’ and the ‘Jetlag Energising Massage’. The resort will also introduce a stylish boutique, opening 2017. International pieces will fill the room; pretty kaftans and sophisticated sunglasses, to name a few.   The highlight is the opening of the perfectly positioned infinity pool within the Suites. Currently being constructed overlooking the caldera, with dotted cabanas and picture-perfect views; providing the perfect retreat for relaxation.


Ca’Sagredo Hotel: Venice, Italy

Launching in April 2017, the new summer rooftop terrace bar at Ca’Sagredo will open seasonally between April and May, providing fantastic views over the city of Venice on the Grand Canal. The space will also be available for private hire. The hotel also introduces its new talented young chef – Damiano Bassano. Originally from Puglia, Bassano has worked in several restaurants around the world and brings to Ca’Sagredo his own unique and experimental creations. Finally, 2016 saw the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare which was marked with a project called “Shakespeare in Veneto” with performances throughout the cities of Veneto. It was so well received, 2017 will see more of the same.


CastaDiva Resort & Spa: Blevio, Italy

Reopening on 10 March, CastaDiva Resort & SPA is pleased to announce continued collaboration with two Michelin Star Chef Gennaro Esposito in 2017. Bringing true Italian flavors with particular focus on local traditions, guests can enjoy Gennaro’s culinary expertise in the hotel’s new lake terrace. CastaDiva will also introduce new SPA treatments “La Vallée Caviar Essence Uniqueness” in 2017, where guests can choose between Earth, Air, Water and Fire.


Castello di Velona: Montlcino, Italy

Castello di Velona Resort introduces new experiential activities for guests to enjoy ‘the real Tuscan soul’ in 2017. The new itineraries are all centered around the beautiful Val d’Orcia (a UNESCO heritage site) and include: hot air balloon rides, Ferrari drives up and down the hills, cooking classes with the resident Chef, painting lessons, yoga seminars and astronomy lessons to explore the mesmerising Tuscan sky. Spring and autumn also bring truffle hunting for guests.


Diamonds Star of the East: Zanzibar, Tanzania

Planhotel Hospitality Group and Jeunes Restaurateures d Èurope (JRE) join forces to celebrate their third edition of this successful culinary extravaganza – Dining With the Stars 2017. Every week from the beginning of January to the end of April, 15 of the JRE chefs will create dedicated à la carte menus for the Diamonds Star of the East, spoiling guests with a varied choice of their own creations. Each chef will also host a cooking session organised in the welcoming atmosphere of the main restaurant. The ultimate culinary experience will be an exclusive six-course gourmet gala dinner, served in the refined Ocean Blue Restaurant of Diamonds Star of the East. For those who are passionate about food, there will also be an opportunity to participate in a weekly cooking class run by the JRE chefs, who will share their recipes and secrets.


Domaine de Manville: Provence, France

Domaine de Manville launches a new Health & Wellness package in 2017 – My Manville Detox & Wellbeing Stay, which comprises a three-day customised detox package, staying in one of the hotel’s luxury villas. The package will include muscular awakening, active walking, yoga, detox cooking classes, consultations with a dietician and naturopathy workshops. The packages will be available 27 – 30 January, 24-27 February and 26-29 March 2017.
DUKES London: London, UK

DUKES LONDON, located in the heart of Mayfair, announces a multimillion pound refurbishment commencing from January 2017. This will be the biggest investment the hotel has seen in decades. Introducing the brand new and improved look to guests, the London property will see a major upgrade to its public areas and bedrooms, which includes a partnership with Liberty London. This is Liberty London’s first partnership with a hotel. The addition of a new food and beverage outlet, under the guidance of Executive Head Chef Nigel Mendham, will deliver an all-day casual dining concept. As part of this new concept, the restaurant is to be renamed GBR (Great British Restaurant) similar to its sister restaurant in Dubai.


Flemings Mayfair: London, UK

From the shores of Jersey to the heart of London, celebrated chef Shaun Rankin’s much-anticipated restaurant Ormer Mayfair has just arrived at the luxury boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair. Bringing expertly executed dishes, impeccable service and a touch of Michelin magic in a beautifully elegant environment. Remaining true to his conviction that sustainably-sourced, locally-foraged and seasonal produce is absolute, Shaun’s Ormer menu is bursting with a wonderful bounty of Jersey and British fare.


Gaya Island Resort: Borneo, Malaysia

In celebration of the launch of Gaya Island Resort Wildlife Centre at Gaya Island Resort – Borneo, a unique nature programme has been crafted. The programme aims to preserve flora and fauna and wildlife that are fast facing extinction and is led by the resort’s Resident Naturalist. The Seven Wonders of Gaya signature experience programme features a key focus on the preservation of endangered Proboscis Monkeys that have made Gaya Island their home. The programme includes a stop at the resort’s private beach, Tavajun Bay, for Bearded Pigs sighting, a mangrove kayak tour as well as a resort-wide educational tour to view Red Giant Flying Squirrels, a firefly habitat, the bizarre Elephant Foot Yam plant and the Boobook Owl.


Hotel d’Inghilterra: Rome, Italy

Hotel d’Inghilterra has recently joined the Starhotels Collezione, a collection of Starhotels’ most representative hotels, 12 locally-inspired iconic properties with a strong heritage and personality. Starhotels is a Florence-based, family-owned hotel group with 29 hotels in the most beautiful destinations in Italy, Europe and the US. The hotel is an elegant and refined home from home in Rome with a fascinating history, in easy walking distance of Via Condotti, the fashion-shopping hub, and Piazza di Spagna, by the Spanish Steps.


Hotel Lungarno: Florence, Italy

In an effort to remain ever-present, Florence’s iconic Hotel Lungarno will take a six month ‘pause’ for refurbishments and revitalisation. The hotel, renowned for its chic, nautical interiors, will undoubtedly maintain its signature blue, a reflection of the River Arno over which it seems to lightly float. The property’s marvelous location with its private terraces, breakfast room, and Michelin-starred restaurant all sitting out over Florence’s aquatic lung, will be polished ‘new’ once again. A museum inside of a hotel, a home inside of an elegant townhouse on the River Arno, and one of the most romantic settings for a Michelin-starred restaurant, the Hotel Lungarno will re-open its doors in June 2017 with the same warmth and style that guests love with a fresh new look.


Hotel Magna Pars Suites Milano: Milan, Italy

Once a perfume factory in the heart of Milan’s fashion district, Hotel Magna Pars Suites Milano keeps its heritage alive with the launch of LabSolue, a new perfume laboratory inside the hotel. Guests can breathe in the history of this unique space and admire the original objects from the 1960s that were once used in the perfume factory. Guests can choose their favourite scent out of 39 essences from woods, flowers and fruits, and stay in the accompanying suite, each named and themed after the 39 ingredients. A small private library with literature on the art of perfume making can also be perused, whilst admiring the lush green courtyard hotel garden.


Hotel Splendide Royal: Rome, Italy

Having subtly started refurbishments this year, Hotel Splendide Royal Rome will continue upgrading both bedrooms and bathrooms into 2017. The soft restyling will see every bathroom getting a fresh new look and each will also expand in size, making for a more spacious bathroom experience. In the bedrooms, all of the furniture will be reupholstered and new carpets and drapes will be installed.



Ibiza Bay: Ibiza

Opening May 2017, Ibiza Bay will be the island’s premier 5* destination, offering 152 designer rooms and suites, a spa, inspired by the healing benefits of the surrounding environment of Ibiza and four restaurants and bars. There are no agendas here; breakfast is served at your leisure and relaxing lunches blend into deliciously free-spirited nights. After sunset, Ibiza Bay transforms into a chic night-spot where the sound of down tempo house music fills the air. Here, indulgence and serenity cohabit peacefully.


Kasara Niseko Village Townhouse: Niseko, Japan

Born in the Chiba Prefecture, boasting Japan’s overall second highest agriculture output, it is no surprise that fresh produce has inspired Chef Ito Masami from an early age. As the master chef at Kasara Niseko Village Townhouse in Niseko Village – Hokkaido, Chef Ito has designed three kaiseki-style dinner menus, featuring the best local produces. Chef Ito’s Kaiseki Experience menus are offered for in-residence dining, available to guests staying at the townhouse throughout the winter season commencing 1 December 2016. YTL Hotels’ commitment to continually enhance the infrastructure, accessibility and overall experience at Niseko Village has resulted in two new all-season lifts, a new ski run within the village and two additional magic carpets surface lifts that will also be operational on 1 December 2016. The state-of-the-art Village Express and Upper Village Gondola lifts are both unprecedented construction designs for a ski resort in Japan.


Kristiania Lech: Lech, Austria

Kristiana Lech has introduced a brand new Luxury Ski Chalet, a small alpine townhouse named House Hannes Schneider, which is a 15 minute drive from Lech in the Austrian Alps. The house is in fact the childhood home of the Godfather of modern day skiing, Hannes Schneider. The little alpine town house is a project by Gertrud Schneider, owner of Kristiana Lech (no relation to Hannes, but the daughter of Othmar Schneider, winner of Austria’s first gold medal for skiing) and polyglot American, Stephen Buscher. The six-bedroom private chalet offers an open plan living and dining room, home cinema room and spa with swimming pool. Situated in the middle of Stuben, the village will see the opening of a new ski lift (Flexen Cableway), promising a bright future for the humble village in the heart of the Arlberg Skiing Area.


Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa: St Barth’s

Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa just opened its doors in St. Barths in November and is the newest hotel opening on island. The elegant boutique hotel perfectly captures the laid-back luxury of St Barth’s, with light airy interiors and genuine island hospitality. The 48 bright and airy rooms and suites are decorated to reflect the white sands and turquoise blue of the ocean and each one opens out onto a private terrace with ocean or garden views and private swimming pool. Aux Amis, the resort’s restaurant serves a light menu during the day and in the evening the space opens onto a beachfront terrace where guests can enjoy French and international cuisine overlooking the bay. The hotel’s spa has partnered with luxury French skin care brand La Mer and offers a wide array of treatments in its open-air atrium.


Le Cep & Spa Marie De Bourgogne: Burgundy, France

In 2017, Le Cep & Spa Marie de Bourgogne will open a new underground vaulted cellar, showcasing the hotel’s unique collection of wines of the Hospices de Beaune and other rare wines, collected over 34 years. Ideal for wine lovers and Burgundy wine collectors, the cellar is a special place for storing and exhibiting this impressive collection in the heart of this famous wine region.


Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda: Lake Garda, Italy

Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda is a multi award-winning eco spa resort set in 27 acres of woodland and olive trees in the Alto Garda National Park overlooking Lake Garda in Italy.  The resort has 21 treatment rooms, five different types of sauna, a salt-water lake for flotation therapies and indoor and outdoor swimming pools with spectacular views.  They have developed their own non-invasive Lefay Spa Method which combines the preventative approach of Chinese medicine with modern Western techniques and offers dedicated programmes to tackle issues with sleep, posture and weight as well as detox and beauty. Lefay has recently developed a new range of organic face and body oils to nourish and treat the skin. The new oils have been certified Cosmos Organic by Ecocert, an internationally recognised standard for organic and natural cosmetics and they combine Lefay’s own extra-virgin olive oil with a range of essential oils.


Les Sources de Caudalie: Bordeaux, France

Les Sources de Caudalie is proud to announce it has been named a Palace. This haven of peace among the vineyards seduced the Atout France jury, which awarded the Palace label to the hotel. The unusual location – at one with nature, surrounded by the vines, the exceptional heritage and the bespoke service convinced the committee. Since 1999, Alice and Jérôme Tourbier have constantly improved the hotel. They impressed the charm of a family home upon it with all the attention to detail expected of a Palace. Nature reigns in this setting dedicated to French art de vivre at the heart of the Graves vineyard.


Milaidhoo Island Maldives: Baa Atoll, Maldives

Milaidhoo Island Maldives opened its doors to guests on 25 November 2016 and immediately launched its programme of guest chefs and visiting experts.  In January, the boutique five star resort promises that every cup of coffee served in its beautiful ocean front restaurants is perfect by bringing Fritz Storm – ex world-champion barista – to the island.  During his stay at Milaidhoo, Fritz will hold coffee tasting classes with the guests, as well as an informal seminar introducing coffee, its history and its culture.  Guests can take barista classes where they’ll learn how to make coffee and try their hand at latte art. In March, one of Switzerland’s top Michelin-starred chefs, Tanja Grandits, swaps Alpine landscapes for ocean views as she heads to Milaidhoo.  Renowned for dishes that celebrate colour, texture and spices, her results have earned her an international reputation and two Michelin stars.  From 4 to 11 March 2017, food lovers will have the chance to find out just how the change of scenery will inspire her as she hosts dinners and events.


MUSE Saint – Tropez: St Tropez, France

Imagine sipping a cool glass of Sancerre at dusk in the South of France, candlelight flickering off the pool water while live jazz music floats softly into the still-warm night air. Next summer, once a week, guests will enjoy an atmospheric Apéro-Musicale while they drink, eat and talk into the night, drenched in the Provençal surrounds of the Muse Saint Tropez estate. The mood is ‘Gatsbian glamour’, with languid jazz and sparkling conversation drifting across the hotel’s enchanting moonlit gardens. For guests that can’t bring themselves to leave the poolside in the evenings, a chef will barbeque their meals right in front of them in the brand new outdoor kitchen. The boutique hotel’s reception area has been updated with cutting edge furniture; an eye-catching collection designed by Rock the Casbah’s Philippe Xerri, that adds character to the contemporary luxurious interior.


Pangkor Laut Resort: Lumut, Malaysia

The Chapman’s Challenge biathlon on 12 to 14 May 2017 coincides on the same date of British Colonel Freddy Spencer Chapman’s escape by submarine in 1945 after hiding at Emerald Bay, Pangkor Laut Resort for 36 hours. His book, ‘The Jungle is Neutral’, recounts his Malayan adventures and love of nature and wildlife that had kept him going. For sheer courage and endurance, physical and mental, he was an example of ‘what toughness the body will find, if the spirit within it is tough’. The annual 7.2km biathlon honours the same belief in which he lived his life by evoking determination through a resort grounds run, a jungle trail hike and a swim at Emerald Bay with exciting stay prizes for the top three winners.


Punta Tragara: Capri, Italy

Starting from the forthcoming 2017 season, Punta Tragara will introduce some new facilities and activities such as the impressive wine cave where guests will have the chance to taste prestigious wines. In addition to that, the hotel will introduce a ‘Gin Club’ located at Bar La Pergola, which overlooks the Marina Piccola Bay. Starting from June, the piano bar will open so that guests can have a drink while enjoying music and the astonishing view.


Albergo San Montano Resort & Spa: Ischia, Italy

Ahead of the upcoming season, San Montano has upgraded the lobby and bar and renovated La Veranda restaurant. The hotel has also introduced new Olea Garden Suites, surrounded by age-old olive groves, orange and lemon trees. Not to be missed the first and only sea view spa in Ischia: Ocean Blue Spa, designed to provide a place in which to regenerate, restore natural equilibrium and improve physical fitness.


Sikelia: Pantelleria, Italy

Situated on Italy’s secret island, Hidden, Sikelia is an exclusive place synonymous with luxury and tranquillity, where to rediscover the slow rhythms of the earth. Pantelleria is a solitary island between the coasts of Sicily and Africa, where the wind crashes dramatically on the cliffs, as if to remind us that here nature is the absolute master. In 2017, Sikelia’s Themà Restaurant will host different Sicilian Michelin starred chefs, to showcase the flavours and aromas of this incredible land.


Tanjong Jara Resort: Dungun Malaysia

In an exclusive partnership with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, a conservation unit and two turtle hatcheries have been built at the Tanjong Jara Resort beachfront by the Nelayan restaurant. The hatcheries’ simple wooden trellis structure allow for nests to be viewed while keeping predators at bay. The new facility offers an opportunity to discover more about these magnificent sea turtles, learn about the dangers they face, conservation efforts made to protect their hatchlings from poachers, and return them to their natural habitat in the sea. Resort guests can subscribe to a nest adoption programme whereby a monetary pledge for a clutch turtle eggs will save a nest from being sold as food to the marketplace and receive email updates with photographic progress reports plus an invitation for a return trip to witness the hatchings. This is a seasonal activity from May to September.


The Arch London: London, UK

The Arch London celebrates its seventh year with plans to revitalise a number of the individually designed guest rooms with opulent fabrics and hand printed wallpapers to compliment the hotels luxury boutique surroundings. The Arch London has a large family following and the refurbishment will enable the hotel to accommodate more families.  A Family Fun Package has been developed to ensure all ages can appreciate an indulgent VIP experience with an Archie Dog, children’s amenities and complimentary meals and bedtime cookies and milk. Hunter 486, the stylish restaurant within The Arch London, will continue to expand its wine list further in 2017. The restaurant currently serves 24 wines and Champagnes by the glass. Hunter 486 has invested in the Coravin Model Two Elite; the model offers wine enthusiasts the rare opportunity to sample glasses without committing to the whole bottle.


The Betsy South Beach: Miami, Florida

The Betsy South Beach announces the completion of its expansion, merging the existing Betsy Hotel on Ocean Drive with the historic Carlton Hotel on Collins Avenue to become a single unified property. The expanded hotel includes the current Ocean Drive arrival building, now known as the Colonial Wing, and the fully renovated Collins Avenue building, known as the Art Deco Wing. The Colonial Wing on Ocean Drive features 60 guestrooms, including 20 suites, and houses the front desk, Lobby Salon, B Bar Lounge, Ocean Front Deck, Wellness Garden & Spa, The Writer’s Room, and newly renovated restaurant, LT Steak & Seafood. The Art Deco wing features 70 rooms and suites, half of them with balconies. Additional public space includes the foot Rooftop Pool with expansive views, the Ocean View Deck, a Library Lounge, several unique event spaces, and Poeti, a trattoria-style Italian restaurant. Connecting the two historic properties is The Betsy Orb, an exquisite display of public art.


The Capital Hotel & Apartments: London, UK

The Capital is launching one-hour informal monthly oyster sessions as a unique and a fun way to experience oysters for the first time or for oyster connoisseurs to broaden their knowledge.  Head Chef Tom Brown, who is mentored by Nathan Outlaw, is arguably Britain’s finest Seafood chef. Tom explains varieties whilst guests will be served different oysters, paired with drinks such as Cider, UK wine and Vodka. One of London’s youngest General Managers, Kate Levin; daughter of the Capital hotel’s owner and pioneer of the UK boutique hotel concept, David Levin MBE,  has been awarded ‘UK Independent Hotelier of the Year 2016’. Finally, adding to an already good mix of interconnecting rooms, apartments and solo rooms for teenagers, 2017 sees the launch of four new junior suites with 2 bathrooms for families of four.


The Majestic Malacca: Malacca, Malaysia

A new lunch sampler set and à la carte selections for dinner showcasing heritage Kristang cuisine will be unveiled at The Mansion in The Majestic Malacca with Chef Melba Majella Nunis at its helm. The Kristang, of Portuguese-Dutch descent, is a community unique to Malacca that arose from the early 16th century when the city was a port and the base of the Portuguese Empire. Chef Melba, a Eurasian from the Kristang community in Malacca, has been cooking all her life serving up unique home-cooked Kristang dishes that have been passed down from her grandparents, the origins of which are time immemorial, which include traditional favourites such as Keluak Curry, Pongteh, Pineapple Curry with Prawns, and more. Get an opportunity to meet Chef Melba as she guides diners on the entwined influences from her family’s culinary legacy beginning February 2017 onwards.


The Margi: Athens, Greece

The newly-opened Margi Farm offers a Farm to Fork Experience, giving guests the opportunity to become acquainted with the Greek land and traditional cuisine – a journey of food and wine accompanied by live Bouzouki music and many other activities. On top of this, the hotel’s swimming pool has been newly renovated, offering the ideal setting for swimming, sun bathing and lounging amongst the Mediterranean bougainvillea.


The Reef by CuisinArt: Anguilla

Anguilla’s newest luxury destination, The Reef by CuisinArt is a contemporary beachfront oasis featuring 80 stunning accommodations, world-class dining, and activities including unique watersports, tennis, and preferred rates and tee times at CuisinArt Golf Club. At the core of The Reef’s on-property programming is a focus on wellness, from poolside pampering through an array of “Spa to You” services, to diverse fitness classes including yoga with meditation and aqua-cycling. Beachside activities include complimentary glass-bottom kayaking, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. Therasia Resort Sea and Spa: Vulcano, Italy

Newly-appointed Chef Giuseppe Biuso, will take the helm in the kitchen at the hotel’s Michelin star restaurant, Il Cappero. On top of this, the hotel will open a new bar, I Russuri, close to the stunning infinity pool, as well as a new room, the Panarea Suite which offers impressive views across the coastline.

Chef Guillaume Anor will also be cooking up a culinary storm as the hotel introduces a brand new menu at the restaurant Bistrot M. Signature dishes of the new menu include sautéed chicken oyster and wild mushrooms to the famous hare ‘A La Royale’ Dauphinois Gratin with sumptuous wine pairing.
